RACE PACKET PICK-UP

PICK-UP YOUR RACE PACKET EARLY! Cedar Falls Recreation Center13th and Main, Cedar Falls Saturday, June 27, 9 a.m. - 5p.m. | Sunday June 28, 6-6:30 a.m. ONLY We encourage you to pre-egister by June 22, 2009. Please pick up packets Saturday, June 27, 2009 to help eliminate congestion and problems on race day, Sunday, June 28. Thank You.

TIME

5K Run/Walk 7:00 a.m. 1/2 marathon 7:00 a.m. Kids Fun Run 9:15 a.m.

LOCATION

Start and finish of all events will be at the Cedar Falls Recreation Center on the corner of 13th and Main. Showers available. AID STATIONS Water will be provided at approximately 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mile marks (for the 1/2). Refreshments will be provided at the finish.

ENTRY FEES

Half-Marathon

  • $20 received by June 22
  • $15 CRRC member, received by June 22
  • $25 received by June 27
  • $40 race day

    • 5K Run/Walk

  • $10 CRRC member, received by June 22
  • $20 received by June 27
  • $25 race day

    • 31st ANNIVERSARY RACE

    This is the 31st anniversary for the 5 K and 1/2 marathon race. Entrants will receive:

  • finisher medals to first 350 finishers.
  • Post-race food and refreshments
  • Showers available in the Rec. Center
  • Shirt sizes available on first come first served basis Entrants in the 5k will receive a cotton t-shirt. 5-K awards to be given at approximately 7:45 AM

    • PROCEEDS

    CRRC splits proceeds from 2008 Sturgis Falls Races and funds from the club account:

  • Sponsorship of Hill Toppers - a Summer raining program for junior high, high school, and college runners. This program trains 150 students each Summer.
  • Cedar Falls Foundation for Flood Relief received $2000. This money will be used to help repair the flood damaged water supply in the North Cedar area.
  • George Wyth State Park received $500 to be used toward repairs in areas damaged by flooding.
  • Grant Wheeler Scholarship Fund received a $500 donation. Several scholarships are awarded each Spring to area high school cross country and track atheletes.
  • CRRC owns and maintains racing equipment that is loaned to over 30 racing events each year.

    • Entrants in the 5k will receive a race t-shirt. 5-K awards to be given at approximately 7:45 AM

    5K:

    Awards can be picked up in front of the Rec Center starting at 7:45 am and will be given to both men and women in the 5K for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers in the following age categories:

    13&under      14-18    19-24    25-29    30-34     35-39     40-44    45-49    50-54    55-59    60 -64    65+

    1/2 Marathon:

    Overall Male/Female
    Overall Master (40 and over) Male/Female

    Race results will be provided by CMAC Running Service. Race results will be available on the websites: www.fitnesssports.com or www.cedarriverrunnersclub.com

    SWITCHING RACES

    No switching races after the gun goes off. You may switch from the half marathon to the 5K prior to the race by notifying officials. To switch from 5K to half marathon, you must pay entry fee difference at registration or be excluded from results and awards.
